MOV അതിന്നു ദാവീദ് ദൂതനോടു: ഈ കാര്യത്തിൽ വ്യസനം തോന്നരുതു; വാൾ അങ്ങും ഇങ്ങും നാശം ചെയ്യും; പട്ടണത്തിന്റെ നേരെ ശക്തിയോടെ പൊരുതു അതിനെ നശിപ്പിച്ചു കളക എന്നു നീ യോവാബിനോടു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ ധൈര്യപ്പെടുത്തേണം എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.
KJV Then David said unto the messenger, Thus shalt thou say unto Joab, Let not this thing displease thee, for the sword devoureth one as well as another: make thy battle more strong against the city, and overthrow it: and encourage thou him.
YLT And David saith unto the messenger, `Thus dost thou say unto Joab, Let not this thing be evil in thine eyes; for thus and thus doth the sword devour; strengthen thy warfare against the city, and throw it down -- and strengthen thou him.`
RV Then David said unto the messenger, Thus shalt thou say unto Joab, Let not this thing displease thee, for the sword devoureth one as well as another: make thy battle more strong against the city, and overthrow it: and encourage thou him.
RSV David said to the messenger, "Thus shall you say to Joab, `Do not let this matter trouble you, for the sword devours now one and now another; strengthen your attack upon the city, and overthrow it.' And encourage him."
ASV Then David said unto the messenger, Thus shalt thou say unto Joab, Let not this thing displease thee, for the sword devoureth one as well as another; make thy battle more strong against the city, and overthrow it: and encourage thou him.
ESV David said to the messenger, "Thus shall you say to Joab, 'Do not let this matter trouble you, for the sword devours now one and now another. Strengthen your attack against the city and overthrow it.' And encourage him."
ERVEN David said to the messenger, "Give this message to Joab: 'Don't be too upset about this. A sword can kill one person as well as the next. Make a stronger attack against Rabbah and you will win.' Encourage Joab with these words."
